Federated Transportation Services of the Bluegrass, Inc. is a non-profit agency incorporated in 1981
FTSB is a public transportation provider and Medicaid broker for 24 counties. FTSB provides Medicaid brokerage services for Boone, Bourbon, Bullitt, Campbell, Carroll, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Henry, Jefferson, Kenton, Madison, Montgomery, Nicholas, Oldham, Owen, Pendleton, Powell, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble Counties.
FTSB provides public transportation in Bourbon, Harrison, Nicholas , Lewis and Rowan Counties.
FTSB Timeline
1981 FTSB was formed to coordinate transportation in the rural areas of Central Kentucky.
1997 Pam Shepherd begins coordinating transportation. At this point she has one part time person helping her.
1998 FTSB Begins Region 10 Brokerage. TANF Program implemented (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
1999 Medicaid, Vocational Rehabilitation, Department for the Blind Programs implemented.
1999 - 2005 Wheels is one of the Transportation agencies that provides transport under FTSB’s brokerage.
2000 At this time there are 6 employees working at FTSB
2004 At this time there are 8 employees working at FTSB
2005 FTSB begins to provide service with our own FTSB vehicles.
At this time there are 25 employees working at FTSB
2007 FTSB begins Public transportation in BHN and Morehead / Rowan County
2008 FTSB is awarded the contract for Region 6 including Louisville. FTSB opens new office in Louisville.
FTSB serves the two largest metropolitan areas in Kentucky.
2009 FTSB begins Job Transportation in Lewis County. Oct. moved into new building at Frankfort Court
2008 At this time there are 68 employees working at FTSB
2012 At this time there are 80 employees working at FTSB
2013 FTSB awarded contract for Region 11
2014 FTSB acquired our own Maintenance Garage and Mechanics
2015 FTSB opens our office in Morehead with 2 office managers
FTSB awarded KYTC Outstanding Overall Transit System in the state of Kentucky
2016 At this time there are now 107 employees working at FTSB
2017 FTSB awarded contract for Region 9 There were then 120 employees working at FTSB
2018 Federated moves into a new building at 1713 Jaggie Fox Way.

2005 FTSB's Executive Director awarded KYTC Public Transit Manager of the Year
2007 FTSB awarded KYTC Outstanding Central Kentucky Section 5311 Grantee.
2009 FTSB awarded KYTC Outstanding Overall Transit System in the state of Kentucky
2011 FTSB awarded KYTC Outstanding Section 5310 Agency for Elderly and Persons with Disabilities
2013 FTSB awarded KYTC Statewide Kentucky Job Access Transit Award
2015 FTSB awarded KYTC Outstanding Overall Transit System in the state of Kentucky
